Stormy Lace Cowl a Bonus Quickies Pattern for October

It's that time of the year, where we inevitably turn back to our needles and pick up our squishy yarn. Whether it is to stay warm, or to keep us focused during a busy season, cozy yarn and lovely handmade items seem to be the goal! This month also brings you an extra Quickies pattern and I think this one would make a lovely gift for someone, and if you cast it today you just might have that extra handmade present you will be looking for in the next few months!

Stormy Lace Cowl, designed by Fiona Munro, is knit in Silcpaca, and features a lovely lace pattern that just shines in this yarn.

Here's what Fiona has to say about the piece:

The Stormy Lace Cowl is the perfect accessory with its distinctive lace detail inspired by stormy skies. It is worked entirely in the round with a British Moss Stitch edging along the cast on and cast off edges. The stormy skies inspiration of windy dark billowing clouds for this cowl is also reflected in the depths of the Abril colour of the sample which is knit with one skein of Malabrigo Silkpaca Lace, (70% baby alpaca, 30% silk). This luxurious yarn has a gorgeous drape and vibrant colour.

I think it is simply an elegant and classic piece, the hardest part for me is trying to decide which color I want to knit one in first! If you think you might want to knit one too, be sure to purchase your copy this week, October 28, because with coupon code NewPattern 20, you will get 20% off, this week only!
