Malabrigo Quickie: Mountainside Toque

This entry was posted on 25th April, 2018 by Barbara .

Fresh from the mountains for April designer Abbye Dahl has designed a wonderfully textured toque in the amazingly soft Dos Tierras. A truly unisex piece Abbye has knit the pattern up in two different colors (Indicita and Cirrus Gray) so that we can see the different looks possible with this elegant canvas.

The fun texture featured on the brim is perfect for mixing up the colors in our more variegated color ways so you can be adventurous in your choices and make more than one of these great hats.

With the combination of alpaca and merino found in Dos Tierras you can also count on this hat to keep your head warm.

When asked to tell us a little about the design and concept behind this pattern Abbye had the following to say.

The Mountainside Toque is the perfect project for an adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter. The instructions allow for a variety of toque shapes and sizes, including a fitted beanie, as well as a more slouchy toque style. The simple and repetitive brim stitch adds the perfect amount of interest, and would look amazing in any of Malabrigos Dos Tierras colourways. My favourites, Archangle, Indiecita, Cirrus Grey, and Aniversario.

Skills required: Knitting in the round, basic knit decreases, slipped stitches.

What color do you think you'll knit this in?
